FAQ- Your Questions, Answered

At Twin Coast Campers we understand that you’ll have plenty of questions regarding commissioning a bespoke conversion from us.

Below we have tried to answer all the top questions we get asked to help guide you through the process. Simple.

Planning

  • To begin, get in touch with us to chat through your ideas. We’ll talk about your needs, budget, and timescale, and explain the next steps for your bespoke campervan conversion.

  • Yes, you’re welcome to visit our workshop by appointment. This gives you the chance to meet us, see our workmanship up close, and discuss your campervan conversion in person.

  • For sure! We have extensive experience in helping clients find the right van for your conversion. We are happy to offer advice on viewings and can speak to the seller ourselves to make sure you’ve got everything covered. We can also supply vans depending on what you are after and stock available.

  • This is a great question and one we get asked the most.

Our advice is to but the best van your budget can allow for, if you are investing thousand of £££ then you want it invested in the right base vehicle. As a rule of thumb we usually advise no older the 5 years and a mileage no higher than 60k.

There are exceptions of course to this as it might be older with very low mileage.

We are here to help with this as it is a very important part of your build.

  • We offer a reassuring 1 year warranty on all our workmanship. The appliances we use in the conversion may have 1 - 10 year warranty - which ever is greater applies.

All warranty work is to be completed by us at our workshop.

  • We charge £2,000 inc VAT to book your build slot. This cost includes the bespoke design service leading up to your allocated build slot.

    Build slot bookings are non-refundable.

  • We do indeed - it works like this:

    • £2,0000 deposit

    • 50% of build quote 2 weeks prior the build start

    • 25% halfway through the conversion

    • 25% on completion (minus your deposit)

  • Sorry, not at this moment in time

  • We have recommend options we can suggest to you

  • Whilst this is not necessary to do so, we can offer advice on the process for doing so on completion of the conversion

  • Some vans are delivered by the clients and some arrive by delivery, we don’t mind as long as we have a van to work on.

Timing wise we like to recieve the van no later than 1 week prior to the build.

We have outdoor space if you need to drop the van earlier.

This can be discussed nearer the time depending on circumstances.

Design

  • Truly bespoke. You may have explored our conversion range already and seen our various layouts. We find that providing layouts in a conversion range helps you decide on the best layout for you as a starting point.

From these base layouts we can create whatever your journey requires. We have built every shape and size van going so if there is something in particular you require we can build it.

  • After we’ve discussed your dream campervan conversion in detail, we design the layout using CAD (Computer-Aided Design). You’ll receive a digital representation of the layout, ensuring you’re completely happy with the design before we begin building.

  • Of course, it’s your adventure home on wheels after all!

If you have a vision of what you want it to look and feel like we can bring that to life.

If you need more help deciding what would work best then we are here to help guide you through the process.

Build

  • VW Transporter/Transit Custom Campers - 8 weeks

    MWB Campers - 8 - 10 weeks

    LWB Campers - 12 - 14 weeks

As you can imagine with bespoke projects these are estimates depending on specification and material choices.

  • Before we start your build, we’ll create a personalised profile for your project on our online tracker, Global Workshops. From this portal, you’ll receive weekly updates and videos on the build, so you never miss a moment!

  • No problem at all! We always welcome clients to visit the workshop for an in-person walkthrough of their build’s progress.

We’ll provide the tea if you can supply the cake!

  • In a word, YES. We love adding the finishing touches to your camper conversion so it looks just as stunning on the exterior as it does on the interior. Just let us know what you’re thinking?

Completion - let your adventures begin

  • Our advice is to keep things simple for your first trip—you’ll want to get comfortable with your campervan conversion before setting off on the Grand Tour.

As our builds are bespoke, you may encounter minor snags or last-minute adjustments. We’re always happy to help, but it’s tricky to assist if you’re halfway up a Swiss mountain or boarding a ferry to Northern Africa.

Stay local. Keep it simple. Have fun.

  • The big day has finally arrived - very exciting for you and us!

Prior to your handover we will email you a guide to your new campervan so that you have time to read it and prepare any questions for us.

On the day please allow 2 hours for us to complete a thorough handover of the finished campervan.

We will go over all the systmes and their operations.

We can answer any questions you may have.

  • Depending on the type of build it will take a while to get to grips with how everything functions and works. Thats why we are on call to help answer any questions especially in those early stages when everything is still so new.

If you can’t find the answer you are looking for then please do feel free to get in touch and we can discuss any queries you may have - We are here to help!
